So sorry to keep everybody (or anybody) waiting on this post, but I have been incredibly busy as of late, but this is a good kind of busy, as opposed to the sulk-around-and-want-to-die busy that has occupied a large part of my life as of late. As we speak, I am ready to drop from exhaustion from the sheer workload that I'm going through, but the weirdest part about it is that I'm having fun. Of course, none of the stuff I'm doing is real work, otherwise I wouldn't be so jovial about it. What I am doing, however, includes many of my projects, which I'll detail shortly. I'm sure that almost all of them will be posted to this site by the end of the break (that is, all the tangible things), so that means there are even more exciting and new things to look forward to over the next three weeks (before college resumes sucking the life out of me and I become depressive again).
The projects I am working on now include the following:
Non-Vital (Stuff that I really don't have to do, but want to do anyway)
- Cleaning/Rearranging my room. Yes, this is such an extensive task that I have to put it on here. I've already spent two full afternoons cleaning it out, and I think two more will finish it off.
- Beating God of War, Final Fantasy 10, Assassin's Creed, and the Monkey Island games. Once again, not vital at all, but all of these are incredibly fun to play, and I really want to see how AC turns out. Also, I like to get copious jam sessions of Rock Band in.
- Playing lots and lots of D&D. This includes my own campaign, which, of course, requires extensive planning and creativity. Thank God, I need to get all these juices pumping somehow.
- Watching Futurama and Reaper. I'm hooked by both shows, and I'm almost done with Futurama.
- Finishing The Invisible Man, Lolita, On the Road, and A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius. I've read the latter two before, but I started all four of them during college, and it irritates me to have books merely half-finished. I DEMAND COMPLETION! PUNY AUTHORS WILL FALL BEFORE MY WRITING PROWESS!
- Getting a few rants out. I already have two planned: one about the 2008 elections/elections in general, and one about Beautiful Katamari. Two completely different topics, I know, but I need to get these opinions out, because they are stifling me so badly!
- My first film: Star-Nosed Moles on a Sailboat. Basically, I entered a [blanks] on a [blank] competition (a la Snakes on a Plane), and that's what my partner and I got. The script is finished, and we are set to film this weekend, which is awesome. It's directed by my friend Mikey K and I, starring Mikey K and I, written by me, and filmed by Mikey K. We make a good team. I might post the script up here soon.
- Writing lots and lots of music. Right now, I'm doing an all-acoustic cover of Bright Eyes' Digital Ash in a Digital Urn (appropriately titled "Acoustic Corpse in an Acoustic Coffin"), a Merrittesque EP in the style of Stephin Merritt, and something that's genuinely mine. I'm recording lots and lots of stuff.

I'd like to start this note out by saying that I wish I knew who to tag in it. I really, really do. But there's just so many awesome people that I can't simply tag at random. You have to be interested in what I'm doing to appreciate the contents of this note. So I figure that everybody who matters will glance at this note and either be interested and keep reading, or scoff and back off. I strongly urge to do to the former, because I need all the help I can get.
That being said, this note (obviously) is for casting calls. Casting calls for what, you ask? For a movie. What movie, you ask? Well, that's an interesting little story. The Coalition Of Cool Kids at Bard recently put forth a movie-making challenge that I and a few others are participating in. The challenge: to make a movie, a loose parody of "Snakes on a Plane", entitled "Blanks on a Blank". The blanks were for us to fill in; each team would get an animal and a form of transportation at random, and we would make a movie out of it. A pretty cool concept, no? Yes.
So I need people to star/co-star/co-co-star/wo
Now this is where you all come in. I'd like to enlist any and all of you to help out with the movie. Just get in contact with me on Facebook, Vox, AIM, E-Mail, in person, carrier pigeon, whatever works for you. I'd really like to get everybody I can to help out and make the project as successful as possible. I'll also need people who can get to one of the following places in the next two months:
1) Bard College (duh)
2) Hackettstown, NJ
3) Long Island, NY
The last two of these are tentative, as we aren't really sure how transportation will work either way. But don't let that stop you, as if you leave anywhere near either of us, I'm sure we can give you rides to whatever destination we may go to.
More details soon, I just want to hear interest from people!!!
Also, if anybody has access to a sailboat (preferably one that they don't really want anymore...), PLEASE LET ME KNOW! I'm already getting a sailboat from Daniel Bassett (I think), and Mike says he has access for two sailboats. But this (surprisingly) might not be enough. We can both sail, so don't worry; your boat will be in mediocre hands.
Also, we want to explode a boat. That would be pretty awesome.
So please, put some interest up. A plot outline will be given as soon as we all figure something out. I'd love to hear from everybody!

Wow, a 5-day gap...I'm really starting to lose my consistency here. I need to step it up a little bit, put some more posts in here, et cetera. I'm really sleepy though, like...to the point I can't see straight anymore. I'm just going to say what I plan on doing, and then turn the fuck in. I'll probably, like, just end up passing out. Jesus...
So among other things, I am:
- Still working on Johnathon Murray's fictitious discourse, and having fun with it as usual. I'll get much more work on it when I'm home, though.
- Still writing songs. I didn't get to go to Blum this weekend, but I'll try for next. The School of Velocity by Czerny also came in today, so I'll be mastering that as well, which will probably slow down the whole song-mastering process. Sorry.
- Still awesome.
- Starting to write my Christmas list. Yeah, I'm still a little kid at heart.
- Starting to be a member of a new group blog. Rory's site "OmegasEye" is back up, and it's now...you guessed it, a group blog! I'm to be writing about music once a week or so, and I'll post everything I write there on here as well. At the very least, it'll keep you people busy while I fail to update...
- Starting to slowly decompose.
- Still hungry.
- Still a vegetarian, although I made my first mistake last night. I admit that I wasn't entirely sober, but it's still a mistake I could have made whilest sober. I ate a handful of my friend's Lucky Charms without realizing that marshmallows had gelatin in them. Fuck, says I. I sat on the couch for about 10 minutes in an astonished/drunken stupor, unbelieving of what I'd done...but I'm over it now.
- Starting to be finished with my English Lit II paper on Paradise Lost...it took me all afternoon, and it's six pages, so I'm pretty psyched for that. I can almost guarantee it's crap, but...meh. I wants sleep.
- Still doing comedy. We did One-Minute Madness last week, and that went a lot better than last week. My performance is not on the intarwubs yet, but just wait. In due time, you will all receive some more of my hilarity.
- Starting again to listen to my entire iTunes music library. In album order. Today alone, I've made it to Amputechture, and I'm probably going to go to sleep as the album ends.
- Starting to DJ. Yeah, it's fun. That's all I have to say for that one.
- Starting my radio show next semester (hopefully)!!! More on that as I get more information, of course. And finally,
- Starting my top 10 lists. Between you and me, December is going to be FULL of them!

So to catch all of you up who haven't been reading me at all, I'm in the middle of an incredibly large creative block right now. It's been lasting for about the last two weeks of my life, and it's absolutely horrible. And I wish that I could say it was just a bad case of writer's block, but it's so much more than that. I can't write, yes, but I also can't even formulate good ideas. Define good ideas? Well, I do comedy, I regularly come up with about 2 story ideas a week that I don't start at all, and I'm witty and quick on my feet (which is only good for 1) Picking up people and 2) Improv, neither of which, coincidentally, I've felt like doing recently). I'm trying so so so so so so hard not to turn this into a fucking livejournal post right now, but it's really hard not to, simply because it's exactly how I feel right now. I don't really know how to explain it in any other simplistic terms save this one:
I feel listless, plain and simple. There's a few big ideas that've gone through my head, but nothing that I've really expanded on save this:
This summer, I am going to hitchhike as far across America as possible from May 30th to July 1st, then turn back and come home. Yeah, yeah, I know what you're going to say; it's just like On The Road... or is it? To make things a little bit more challenging, and a lot more interesting for us, we've decided to only take the following things:
1) A blank journal
2) A few disposable cameras
3) Medical stuff and one or two changes of clothes
4) Identification
5) An emergency credit card and cellphone.
6) A towel
That's right, gentlemen and lady, we're going to hitchhike across the USA without any form of money. It's going to be one hell of an amazing trip, both in the literal sense, and in the mental sense. I think that above all things, it'll give us a sense of just how vital (or otherwise) money is to our existence here in America. I doubt that it'll work without a hitch (we'll probably have to use the credit card somehow or somewhere), but if it does, that'll simply be mind-blowing.
So yeah, that's my summer. I'll probably post more on the stops we plan on making and give people chances to get in touch with me/Zack if you'd be so kind to shack us for the night or drive us places. None of it's finite, but I'm sure that you lovely folks will be loving and accommodating, especially a few of my college pals.
Besides that, there's not a lot to go into today. I'm working with whatever free time I have on a short story/novel that I plan on having at least rough by the end of November. I'll post more of it as more of it comes into play (maybe I'll even get a section up here tonight). Also, I've been talking about doing a rant or two, but the mood hasn't struck me since Saturday night. As I said before, maybe my mood will change and I'll get something up here tonight. Probably not, but keep your fingers crossed!
Ooh, also an errata: For all my Bardians who read this, stand-up comedy has been changed this week. From now on, it's every other Wednesday at 9:30, NOT 10:00! Small change, but I know I'll be going up in the first half hour. Hope to see everyone there!
