I don't think I really need to say more, just let the beautiful music move you...

I actually have a number of things I need to talk about today, but they're all spur-of-the-moment inspired things, so this'll be yet another unfocused post. I'll get focus once I get through my current portion of the novel. It's only a 4 or 5 page section, but this part needs to be PERFECT. I'll explain that when I post it.
So, let's kick things off. I heard--actually yesterday, but I forgot to put it up here--that they've done yet more casting for the new Star Trek movie. Yawnsville, right? Wrong! Some genius thought that it'd be a great idea to cast Simon Pegg (Of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz) as our good friend Scotty. He can do a mean Sean Connery impression, but really, with Johnathon Cho (Harold and Kumar go to White Castle) as Lieutenant Sulu, do we really expect this to not be a comedy? Apparently. (Also, I only WISH I'd had the brilliant idea to Photoshop this picture)
Second off, I got the Hellgate: London Beta today. I wish I could say that it's awesome. Hell, I even wish I could say that it sucks. I just wish that I'd get a chance to play it sometime relatively soon! I installed it and it told me my system requirements were too low, which is bullshit, as this is a new computer with half-decent specs. So I looked around, and lo and behold, Windows snuck another update past me. The bastards. So I got the update, re-updated my drivers just to make sure, and rebooted the computer a few times. Forty-five minutes and a whole lot of aggravation later, it works. I set the specs considerably lower, seeing as my mouse couldn't even move on the title screen (Hellgate is an absolutely BEAUTIFUL-looking game), and went to play multi-player. And the servers are fucking down.
In a few hours' time though, sweet demon-slaying pleasure shall be mine.
Also, once again, I'd like to remind everybody that I'm doing a comedy routine (for what it's worth) tomorrow night in the Camus Center here at Bard. It starts at 9:30, and there are some incredibly funny people here... besides me, of course. See me there, and if you don't get the opportunity to, I'll post the video up here, as always. I live to serve.
In a final, and brief piece of news (I've decided to keep this largely brief, so I can work on Hellgate:London and my current writing project, get part of the latter up here by the end of tonight.), there is apparently a new Army of the Pharaohs album out that slipped under my radar. It's been out for about a month now, and it's called "Ritual of Battle". For those of you who don't know AotP, they're a branch-off of Vinny Paz's Jedi Mind Tricks, and really big on shock value. One of the lyrics in the opening song is something like "finger-fucking bitches with Freddy Krueger fingers". Yeah, listen at the your own sanity's sake. But besides that, the album is really well-orchestrated, and each of the rappers in AotP gets their share of hatred out, whether it be through penetrating women, throwing javelins through peoples backs, or just plain old capping some bitches.
No, I'm still white. Sorry.

So to catch all of you up who haven't been reading me at all, I'm in the middle of an incredibly large creative block right now. It's been lasting for about the last two weeks of my life, and it's absolutely horrible. And I wish that I could say it was just a bad case of writer's block, but it's so much more than that. I can't write, yes, but I also can't even formulate good ideas. Define good ideas? Well, I do comedy, I regularly come up with about 2 story ideas a week that I don't start at all, and I'm witty and quick on my feet (which is only good for 1) Picking up people and 2) Improv, neither of which, coincidentally, I've felt like doing recently). I'm trying so so so so so so hard not to turn this into a fucking livejournal post right now, but it's really hard not to, simply because it's exactly how I feel right now. I don't really know how to explain it in any other simplistic terms save this one:
I feel listless, plain and simple. There's a few big ideas that've gone through my head, but nothing that I've really expanded on save this:
This summer, I am going to hitchhike as far across America as possible from May 30th to July 1st, then turn back and come home. Yeah, yeah, I know what you're going to say; it's just like On The Road... or is it? To make things a little bit more challenging, and a lot more interesting for us, we've decided to only take the following things:
1) A blank journal
2) A few disposable cameras
3) Medical stuff and one or two changes of clothes
4) Identification
5) An emergency credit card and cellphone.
6) A towel
That's right, gentlemen and lady, we're going to hitchhike across the USA without any form of money. It's going to be one hell of an amazing trip, both in the literal sense, and in the mental sense. I think that above all things, it'll give us a sense of just how vital (or otherwise) money is to our existence here in America. I doubt that it'll work without a hitch (we'll probably have to use the credit card somehow or somewhere), but if it does, that'll simply be mind-blowing.
So yeah, that's my summer. I'll probably post more on the stops we plan on making and give people chances to get in touch with me/Zack if you'd be so kind to shack us for the night or drive us places. None of it's finite, but I'm sure that you lovely folks will be loving and accommodating, especially a few of my college pals.
Besides that, there's not a lot to go into today. I'm working with whatever free time I have on a short story/novel that I plan on having at least rough by the end of November. I'll post more of it as more of it comes into play (maybe I'll even get a section up here tonight). Also, I've been talking about doing a rant or two, but the mood hasn't struck me since Saturday night. As I said before, maybe my mood will change and I'll get something up here tonight. Probably not, but keep your fingers crossed!
Ooh, also an errata: For all my Bardians who read this, stand-up comedy has been changed this week. From now on, it's every other Wednesday at 9:30, NOT 10:00! Small change, but I know I'll be going up in the first half hour. Hope to see everyone there!
